The Learning Disabilities Association of Northeast Ohio is
offering a unique opportunity for Parents and Teachers to
learn about Specific Learning Disabilities. The sessions will
give parents and teachers an increased understanding of
SLD, special education laws, evaluations, and IEPs.


SESSION TOPICS:
The nature of Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD)
An in-depth look at the Individuals with Disabilities
Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504
The Evaluation Process: Identification of the Disability
The Nuts and Bolts of Individual EducationPlans (IEPs)
Strategies for Parents and Teachers

Ten Professional Development contact hours will be offered

through State Support Team Region 3.

Summer Reading/Pet Pals

Orange Branch

Wednesdays,
June 17th – July 22nd
7:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Children in second through fifth
grades will have the opportunity
to improve their reading skills by
reading aloud to very special dogs
this summer. Each reader will be paired
with a certified therapy dog for 20
minutes of reading.
Presented by Cuyahoga County Public
Library and Cleveland’s Pet Pals
Program of University Hospitals.
